Thanks Ilyce I am not sure why anyone even five months ago would not have prepared their home for sale. In addition to staging there are a number of other presale things realtors can advise their clients to do. HomeGain's Home Sale Maximizer tool lists the top home improvements according to a survey of real estate agents: http://www.homesalemaximizer.com
I think realtors have to go with what works for them. You have to match your marketing and sales approach with your personal style. I don't think its as simple a matter of concluding "consumers don't want this or consumers want that" and then acting in accordance with that proclamation. The consumer pool is large enough with a wide range of preferences and levels of "savyiness" such that you can always find the type of consumer you wish to work with. To conclude that a consumer is not "savvy" because they chose to leave contact information (allow themselves to be captured!)is probably false depending on your definition of savvy. That consumer may not read blogs, use 2.0 tools or read inman news but may have a lot of money to spend on a home!
A little spam and then I suppose let's you know the site is live :-)
