Good advice. Buyers do need to use caution when buying bank owned or short sales. Always do a home inspection. If the listing agent says you can't have a home inspection, move on. We are finding that somewhat here in Cape Coral and Ft. Myers - reo listing agents only accepting offers without inspection contingencies. So either the buyer can pay for an inspection without even having a contract or they can buy without an inspection. Either way, you could lose. Short sales can be tricky as well. Many agents are new to how they work and many banks change their guidelines frequently. We specialize in selling short sales & helping buyers buy short sales and foreclosures.
